Maltina has launched a consumer campaign inviting Nigerians to share their first impressions of its refreshed packaging as the malt drink brand marks 50 years in the country.

The “What’s Your Word?” campaign will encourage consumers to describe the new visual identity in one word across media platforms, retail outlets and other brand experiences.

The relaunch features updated packaging across glass bottles, cans and PET bottles, with a stronger orange colour, enhanced gold details and a more prominent barley symbol.
Other design features include a gold crown cork, brighter sunrays, a bolder calcium coin and a “Since 1976” mark highlighting the brand’s history.

Marketing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Sarah Agha, said the changes were intended to give the brand a contemporary appearance while retaining its familiar taste.
“For 50 years, Maltina has grown alongside generations of Nigerians. This refreshed identity is an evolution of a much-loved brand, designed to keep Maltina fresh, relevant and connected to today’s consumers while preserving the nourishing taste they know and trust,” she said.

Agha said the campaign would allow consumers to contribute to the brand’s next chapter by sharing the words that best captured their impressions of the new design.
The refreshed packs are expected to reach stores, restaurants, bars and markets nationwide, supported by media activities, trade launches and consumer events.

Maltina is fortified with calcium, with the company stating that a 33cl bottle provides the equivalent of half a glass of milk. The brand is also endorsed by the Nutrition Society of Nigeria as a non-alcoholic drink rich in vitamin A.
