The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has ordered all accredited insolvency practitioners to re-register, including those whose credentials remain valid, as it moves to update professional records and automate its processes.
The commission also fixed December 1, 2026, as the deadline for practitioners whose accreditation is due for renewal, warning that failure to meet the date would lead to automatic suspension.
In a notice published on its official X account on Wednesday, the CAC said suspended practitioners would be ineligible to take on new insolvency assignments or continue existing ones.
“All practitioners whose accreditation is due for renewal are required to renew on or before 1 December 2026,” the commission stated.
It said the directive was based on Section 705 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020, and Regulation 1.07 of the Insolvency Regulations, 2022, which provide for accreditation and renewal.
According to the CAC, accreditation for insolvency practice is valid for three years and must be renewed upon expiration.
The commission said the mandatory re-registration exercise was also intended to update practitioners’ identification records in line with the National Identity Management Commission Act, 2026, and support its end-to-end automation process.
It added that practitioners who complete the exercise successfully would receive new certificates with enhanced security features.
The CAC directed all affected professionals to complete their renewal applications and re-registration online through its dedicated portal at https://insolvency.cac.gov.ng .
It urged practitioners to comply promptly to avoid disruption to their professional activities.
