Philadelphia Retires Iverson’s Jersey

Allen Iverson, one of the greatest playmakers in the NBA history, returned to the limelight on Saturday night, four seasons after his retirement to receive a well-deserved recognition.

A sellout crowd of 20,856 saw the iconic Iverson’s Philadelphia 76s' jersey No 3 fit in the rafters between Maurice Cheeks' No 10 and Charles Barkley's No 34.

Home fans, who sold out the Wells Fargo Centre Arena in Philadelphia, for the first time this season, did not seem to care much about their team’s 13th consecutive loss of the season, after falling 122-103 to the Washington Wizards.

The night clearly belonged to Iverson who spent 11 of his 14 NBA seasons at the 76ers.
