Mexico Won't Beat Us Again - Echiejile

Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile is hoping to end up on the winning side when he files out with the senior national team against Mexico in an international friendly billed to kick-off in the early hours of Thursday in Atlanta, United States of America.

The Super Eagles have failed to win the El Tri in their last four encounters and Echiejile who will be making his 41st appearance for the three time African champions believes they can end their win-less streak in the friendly match.

“Nice atmosphere here at the camp and I am happy to see my pals again.” says the Super eagles defender.

“I will give my best in the game against Mexico as usual. I will try to see that we come out victorious in the match,” Elderson said after the Eagles last training session yesterday at the Georgia Dome.

He has thus far featured in two French Cup games for AS Monaco since he made a winter switch from SC Braga.

Mexico, which is coming off a 4-0 win over Korea Republic in January, leads the all-time series against Nigeria with a win and three draws in four previous meetings.

Their last encounter ended in a 2-2 stalemate on May 31, 2013, in Houston, Texas.
