PDP members discuss way forward

Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) has held its meeting to deliberate on way forward after its leadership crisis which was settled by the Supreme Court of Nigeria last week.

At the well attended meeting held at Wadata plaza, the party's national Secretariat in Abuja, the members resolved to work together to get the party back on track.

Former president, Goodluck Jonathan, former national chairmen of the party, chief Vincent Ogbulafor, Chief Amadu Ali, former senate president, David mark, Deputy Senate president, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, among several serving and former governors thronged the venue making it come alive again after almost 14 months of legal battle.

Although much was not expected at the meeting, the party’s intention to bounce back was discussed among the members. The members also express happiness for winning their appeal at the Apex Court.

Speaker after speaker, the members congratulated each other but most touching was that of the former president, who hailed members for sticking to the party amid serial persecutions.

He urged them to focus on rebuilding the party structures that were almost destroyed by the now settled leadership tussle.

Senator Alimodu Sheriff and his cohorts were visibly absent as the meeting discussed how to reconcile all aggrieved members.

However, the meeting appealed to members to go back to their states and regain the confidence of their constituencies ahead of the 2019 general elections.
