Suspected Herdsmen Shot Politician in Igangan

A former House of Representatives candidate on the platform of Accord party during the 2015 general elections, Dr. Fatai Aborode has been reportedly shot dead. 

Aborode, Chief Executive Officer, Kunfayakun Green Treasures Limited, was allegedly killed near his farm, along Apodun village, Igangan by suspected Fulani herdsmen, on Friday evening.

It was gathered that Aborode, a politician and prominent farmer, was killed just as he was leaving his farm around 4 pm in the company of his manager on a motorbike. 

The manager (name not given), who was said to have escaped gunshots, reportedly fled the scene. 

All efforts to get the reactions of the police was abortive as at the time of this report while calls made to the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, were not successful and text message sent to him has not been replied. 

The source said no arrest has been made at the time of filing this report.

He died in between Tapa and Aiyete community on his way to a hospital in Igboora.
