Most residents of Owu-Kuta, a community in Ayedire Local Government area of Osun State have been rendered homeless by a rainstorm that destroyed their houses and other valuables.

Palace of the Traditional ruler of the town, Oba Adekunle Makama was not also spared.

The torrential rain accompanied by heavy storm left the people with a rare experience since the town was founded.

Rooftops were blown off, houses were pulled down, electricity poles and other valuables were destroyed.

The people of the town appealed to both the state and the federal governments to come to their aid.

They also called for the quick intervention of the government to restore power supply to the community.

Our correspondent Adeola Aderibigbe reports that many of those rendered homeless have temporarily left the community.
