Operatives of the Abia state police command have arrested six kidnap suspects after a gun battle at the world Bank Housing estate, Ogbor Hill, Aba the commercial hub of the state.

The state commissioner of Police, Anthony Ogbizi who also paraded three other robbery suspects, said the operation led by a special team from Lagos and that the state police, was achieved as a result of a tip off.

He said the team in collaboration with the Abia state Police command is continuing with the operation targeted at ridding the state off kidnappers and armed robbers.

Regretting that the kidnap suspects make use of residential buildings for their operations within the state, Ogbizi called on the public ‎to always report suspicious movements around their vicinity.

According to information made available to journalists one of the kidnap victims who was rescued during the operation, has been confirmed dead  in an undisclosed hospital.
