Malawi Electoral Commission Visits INEC

Malawian Electoral Commission is seeking support from the Independent National Electoral Commission for effective implementation of constituencies' delimitation.

Chairman of the Malawian Electoral Commission, Justice Chifundo Kachale was speaking during a study tour of INEC in Abuja, Thursday. 

He said his country wants to know how to manage voter distribution and the proportion of Voters required to constitute a valid Constituency.

Kachale also revealed his country's interest in the legal framework on delimitation; the stakeholders to engage, what kind of technology would be deployed at what stage of the processes.

In his response, INEC chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu assured the delegation from Malawi that INEC would assist them with the information needed to get the electoral processes right in their country.

The INEC boss told the Malawian delegation that currently, the commission is conducting continuous Voter Registration as part of preparations for the 2023 general election.

The two electoral commission chairmen agreed to learn from each other to make electoral processes less cumbersome in their countries.
