IGP launches RFO 237

The Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu has officially launched the Revised Force Order 237(RFO), for the enhancement of performance of police personnel and to prevent illegal possession of firearms.

IGP Adamu, who performed the launch in Abuja, Thursday, said RFO, will also address extra-judicial killings within the country.

He lauded the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, amongst others, who collaborated with the Nigeria Police towards achieving this feat.

Speaking on the forthcoming Kogi and Bayelsa State gubernatorial polls, IGP Adamu warned all political actors who might adopt undemocratic means to achieve their aspirations, to desist as the Force will not tolerate any misconduct, during and after the election.

The police boss however assured all citizens, stakeholders and the international community, of the Force determination to work with the Independent National Electoral Commission, in creating a conducive and enabling environment that will guarantee the peaceful conduct of the pending elections.
