The Governor of Ekiti state Kayode Fayemi has promised that his administration will initiate programs and policies that will guarantee a brighter future for kids in the state.

He said the state government understands it has a responsibility to protect and enhance lives of children.

Fayemi said this on Monday at the Ekiti parapo pavilion, venue of the 2019 children day celebration.

Fayemi who was represented at the celebration by the commissioner for youth and sports, Michael Awopetu urged stakeholders to collaborate with the state in its efforts to curb violence against children.

The speaker of Youth Parliament in Ekiti state, Michael Adebanji urged the State government to provide adequate security to protect children in the state against kidnapping and other social vices.
