Benue Teaching Hospital Offered About 200 Prison Inmates Medical Outreach

Health Officials from the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi, has offered a one day free medical outreach services to about two hundred inmates at the Maximum Security Custodial Center Makurdi.

Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), who also doubles as Chairman Medical Outreach of the hospital, Professor Agbir Terkura, disclosed this to newsmen when he led other team members with medical and food items to the center as part of Governor Alia Health Care Initiative.

Correspondent Gabriel Ordia reports that Professor Agbir Terkura who presented the items to the State comptroller, Mary Oche, for examination before it was taken into the custodial center for the outreach, says the gesture is part of their corporate social responsibility to the inmates as well residents living around the neighborhood.

PROF Agbir Terkura, Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, (CMAC), BSUTH, MAKURDI. The Comptroller of Correction Benue State Command, Nigeria Correctional Services, Mary Oche, commended the chief medical director of the hospital and his team for reaching out to the inmates at this difficult times, and appeal to other spirited and corporate bodies for assistance in reforming the inmates.

Meanwhile, the comptroller thanked governor Hyacinth Alia led administration for providing them a permanent site, a transformer among others after forty years
