Artisans lament total blackout in Warri

Artisans whose businesses, offices are along the airport road, 1st  Marine, Avenue and Okere road in the Warri South local government area of Delta state have called on the Delta state government to prevail on the power distribution company, BEDC to restore power to their community or remove the electrical cables from the neighborhood.

The residents are lamenting over the two months total blackout which they said is affecting their businesses.

Speaking on the issue, the artisans said the effect of the total blackout could be seen in their businesses as they now pay for darkness.

Others who spoke said electricity is now for the rich as they have lost patronage as a result of the blackout being experienced.

On her part, the public affairs manager of the BEDC, Helen Ogagarue when contacted, blamed the power outage on transmission which she claims is beyond their control.
