APC governorship aspirant in Ekiti, Sunday Adebomi, has pledged to tackle security challenges in Ekiti by coordinating the best security apparatus and intelligence agency if elected.

He made the pledge on Wednesday, February 14 at an interactive session tagged: “My Agenda” under the auspices of the Ekiti Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) in Ado-Ekiti.

Retired Capt. Adebomi joined 29 other aspirants vying for the APC ticket.

The governorship aspirant said; “I did not go into politics for selfish gain."

He promised to use his experience as a retired Captain of the United States of America Army to coordinate the best security apparatus that will liaise with the Nigerian Army and our national police force to make people of the state to live in peace.”

Adebomi also decried the economy and educational system in the state, describing the situation as “poor and unwarranted”.

“The economic situation of our state is poor; without the federal allocation, the state cannot survive."

He said unemployment and youth restiveness is visible; trust in the present government is low and the essentials needed to stimulate socio-economic development are lacking.

Adebomi said that he would do everything possible to empower and encourage new generations of farmers and support commercial agriculture by creating better access to land use, farm inputs, and machinery.

The retired captain said that an enabling environment would be created for youths, women, artisans, aged and trade unions by giving them unhindered opportunities to excel and contribute to the growth of the state economy.

He also promised to pursue policies that would encourage and support entrepreneurs to establish industries and businesses in the state.

Adebomi said that this would pave way for the much needed economic growth and jobs creation for youths.
