Anambra state police command has welcomed it new commissioner of police in the person of John Abang.

CP John B. Abang replaces Mustapha Dandaura to become the 28th Commissioner of Police in Anambra State Police command.

In his address the new CP sited the security challenges facing the state and stressed his determination to fight all forms of crimes and criminality, adding that the command under his watch shall reinvigorate "Operation Puff Adder" to tackle the menace of cultism, robbery and especially kidnapping in the state.

He also frowned voraciously against extortion and other professional misconducts by his men including unlawful/ over detention and incivility to members of the public and assured that there will zero tolerance to indiscipline thereby urging the general public to report any extortions from the police to the appropriate authorities.

He also said he'll like a partnership with the media and the people of Anambra to join the command to continue to make the state the safest in the country.
