Oyo state government has solicited the support of health workers in the state in its bid to ensure qualitative healthcare services for the citizens.

The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Bashir Bello who made the appeal at the opening of the 2019 Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Oyo State Council noted that the present administration has accord serious attention to healthcare services in the state.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Dr. Bashir who was represented by the Director of Nursing Services in the Ministry of Health, Mr. Taiwo Ajiboye solicited the support of Nurses and health workers towards ensuring a peaceful and a crisis-free working environment.

He further called for mutual support and understanding among members of the Association for effective service delivery adding that there will be no progress in an atmosphere devoid of peace. At the end of the conference, Comrade Samuel Adeyemi emerged as the new chairman of the Association in Oyo State.

The outgoing chairman of the Association, Comrade Rukayat Afonja commended members for their support adding that welfare of members was attended to during her tenure. The new Chapman, Comrade Samuel Adeyemi promised to sustain the legacy of his predecessor.
