Fire Razes Shopping Plaza in Balogun Market

Twenty four hours after a fire razed a shopping complex on Martin's street is the densely populated Balogun Market Lagos, efforts are still ongoing to finally put out the fire and all bring down the building which partially collapsed around noon yesterday. The fire which engulfed the Brasas building which houses tons of bales O lace fabric and other highly flammable materials at about 10am has got all stakeholders in Lagos on their toes. Judith Irenoa reports that a simultaneous demolition of the building by personnel of the Lagos state emergency management agency Lasema and fire service is ongoing. This is as the fire still rages and that's the only way to reach it. a combined detachment of the Nigeria police force, LSNC, CBD, Lasema, and fire service are fully on ground to forestall a break down of law and order as The challenge of crowd control still remains. A large crowd of traders and other sympathizers hang in strategic places awaiting the outcome of the demolition and their final fate
