Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has dismissed media reports credited to the national security adviser, babagana Monguno that the unthinkable happened as the just concluded gubernatorial elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states saying the presidential adviser was misquoted. Addressing state house correspondents after a meeting with vice president Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa Abuja, Thursday, the governor said the last elections reflected the wishes of the people and could not have been described as noncredible by the NSA. He was sarcastic about the report saying, the ‘unthinkable’ can only be his victory at the polls which came with a wider margin. Alhaji Bello said his election was the first time a Kogi citizen from the minority will contest an election and win with such a wide margin. The governor also responded to the national bureau of statistics’ report which pegs Kogi as the most corrupt state in the country. He said such a report could not stand the taste of time when his administration brought transparency and accountability in the governance of the state.
