Kano Governor sacks 6 commissioners

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has sacked six commissioners from his cabinet and sworn in six new for replacement.


 

This is coming barely a week since the governor announced the need to restructure his cabinet in order to achieve maximum performance

Galaxy correspondent reports that those sworn in include a former commissioner during the former administration of Ibrahim Shekarau Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso and a former President of the Kano Chamber Of Commerce Ahmed Rabi'u.

"It's No Longer A Business As Usual" Those were the words of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje shortly after swearing in the six new commissioners who he said were selected
based on individual capacity and are expected to remain conscious of the state political environment and the need of the people of Kano state.

Meanwhile Governor Ganduje told the new commissioners that his administration has given high priority to the fight against corruption and will not tolerate corrupt practices among any public servants in the state.

Those sworn in are Ibrahim Mukhtar commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Ahmed Rabi'u to lead the state Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Aliyu Dan Amu for The Ministry of Finance, Aishatu Jafar replaces Zubaida Abubakar of Economic Planning And Budget, Engineer Aminu Aliyu appointed as the new commissioner of works, housing and transportation while Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso to serve as commissioner for special duties.

Governor Ganduje informed them that they were selected because of their track records in developing the economy of the state to meet international standards. The commissioner for works and that of Justice said they are ready to hit the ground running adding that justice is for all.

Though some said the appointments were politically motivated others said it is yet to be seen what the new development would bring to the state.
