APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY: Lawan Pleads With Fct Delegates for Votes

Amidst rumors that the Presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC will be handed to former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, the current Senate President and presidential aspirant, Ahmad Lawan, says he is the best prospect of the party to get re-elected.

Lawan made this submission during a session with delegates of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, where he canvassed for their votes ahead of the APC Presidential Primary. The race to the Presidential Villa hots up, and the presidential hopefuls recognize that having the delegates as allies could very well position them a step closer to achieving their dream. It is a frantic and somewhat desperate hunt for votes.

Current Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, understanding the great power that delegates have, attempts to convince those of the FCT to give him their votes to make him the APC flag bearer for next year's presidential election. Knowing how fierce and intense the race will get in the coming days in the lead up to the rescheduled Presidential primary of the APC, Lawan says his opponents should focus on an issue-based campaign.

Lawan's supporters, including serving senators express confidence in his capacity to deliver to citizens the Nigeria of their dreams. The APC had shifted the date of its presidential primary to June 6 a change of about a week after INEC extended the deadline, this affording politicians like Ahmad Lawan and many others in the race to be Presidency, the opportunity for horse-trading or dollar rain on delegates.
