Nigeria’s 59^th Independence Anniversary Celebration will be confined to the State House which is also known as the Aso Rock Villa, where Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari will give a nationwide broadcast to mark the day, on Tuesday 1^st of October.

This year’s Independence Day celebration will, therefore, be devoid of the traditional march past and other such activities that would have been if the Eagle Square were to be the venue for the event.

The line-up of events to mark the 2019 Independence Day was outlined at a press briefing held in Abuja Monday.

Part of activities lined up for the Anniversary Day celebration includes Friday prayers at the National Mosque and an inter-denominational church service two days after.

The theme of this year’s Independence Day celebration is “Peaceful Coexistence for National Growth and Development.
