FG Removes Immigration Boss,Appoints Bala Musa As Replacement

The Federal Government has ordered the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mrs Rose Uzoma, to proceed on her accumulated pre-retirement leave from today.

The government also appointed a Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr. Rilwan Bala Musa, as acting Comptroller General of Immigration pending the appointment of a substantive Comptroller-General.

This was contained in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday signed by the Director/Secretary, Civil Defefence, Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Service Board, Dr R. Attahiru, on behalf of the chairman of the board and Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro.

The statement said President Goodluck Jonathan had approved the pre-retirement leave of Uzoma and appointment of Musa, who is the most senior Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration as Acting Comptroller-General.

The statement read: “I am directed to convey the approval of His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, for you, (Mrs. Rose Chinyere Uzoma) to proceed on your pre-retirement accumulated leave.”
