Senate has on Thursday, May 1, stood down consideration of report of committee on works over strong resistance by Senator Kabir Marafa over his perceived dichotomy between degree and HND holders in the report.

Chairman of the Committee, Kabiru Gaya earlier submitted the report for clause by clause consideration of  the National Road Funds Bill, which recommended for appointment of executive directors to only engineers been degree holders.

In his submission of a section of the report, which exclusively allotted the position to only a degree holder, Senator Kabir Marafa said that it is discriminatory and against the intent of the constitution.

Senator Marafa said that the dichotomy against HND holders in Nigeria is ungodly, stressing that ‘no one can defend that wicked injustice.’
