Saraki maintains embargo on Buhari's appointees
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki says that the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly has not lifted the embargo on the confirmation of appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate President who read a letter from the President seeking the Senate’s approval for the 2017 budget estimates of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), stated this in response to a point of order by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa that three states have no representation on the NDDC board.
It will be recalled that the Senate and executive stand-off which began sometime in March 2017 is in protest of the Presidency’s insistence on Magu as the acting Chairman of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency the EFCC.
