Gunmen Kidnap Teachers, Engineer In Delta School

Armed gunmen stormed Awhire-Agbarha-otor  community  in Ughelli North local government area of Delta  state and invaded the community secondary school where they kidnapped two teachers and an engineer attached to a contracting firm.

The kidnappers  numbering  three  according  to the students stormed the school premises by mid-day armed  with assault rifles, took the three victims in the full glare of the students and teachers  who scampered  for safety on sighting the kidnappers.

According  to the Ughelli police area commander  Mr Awosola  Awotunde who confirmed the report and gave the names of the teachers as Mrs Elizabeth Ureubu  and Mr Emma  Ekperu, stated that the police will do everything within its power to ensure that the abductors are arrested.

In the same vein, a member of the community vigilante group who spoke in confidence said that the teachers were driven in the Honda Accord car belonging  to one of the teachers, which was later abandoned in a nearby community.

As at the time of filing this report, no  contact  has  been made by the kidnappers regarding  the payment of ransom. It will be recalled that some suspects were last week arrested by the Delta police command  over the abduction of a six month old baby
in Abraka.
