As part of his administration resolve to continue with the free maternal  health care policy, the Delta state governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan  has  reiterated  that  his administration places high premium on the health and lives of all those living in Delta.

He made the remarks while commissioning the new maternal  health care complex at the general hospital  in Warri, and three  ambulances  for accident victims in the state.

Speaking at the occasion which was attended by community chiefs, government functionaries and pregnant women, governor Uduaghan stated that the resolve  to  protect the lives of women and children led to the free maternal care.

Speaking further, he said that the commissioning of the ambulances is a long awaited venture, which according to him will help reduce death on the highway.
                                               
Also speaking, the commissioner for health  Mr. Joseph  Otumara stressed that patients  and children high mortality rate led to the free maternal  care,  while some of the patients  who spoke with
Galaxy news have different opinion on the free maternal care.

Meanwhile, cameras   were  not  allowed  into  the toilet sections of the Warri General hospital to ascertain  or confirm the words of one of  the  patients who urge the state government to do more.
