NMA clamour for suspension of strike

The Nigerian Medical Association has called on other affiliate association to immediately suspend the ongoing strike embarked to demand for the implementation of the consolidated medical salary structure and nonpayment of arrears by the Federal Govt.
NMA National President Dr. Idris Omede made the call at a News Conference in Abuja.
He said the National body has begun negotiations with both Federal and State Governments to ensure that the salary structure is implemented in order to guarantee Peace in the Health sector.
Dr. Omede also reminded his colleagues on the need to reinvigorate discipline and Ethical Conducts within the profession while pressing their demand for better working conditions.
The Comrades further noted that an emergency Meeting will be summoned in six weeks time to review the situation.
