Correspondent Nnabuchi Okey Nnabuchi,Abuja.
It has been a beehive of activities at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party since the Conference Room of the Party’s National Working Committee was gutted with fire last Saturday.
Our Correspondent who visited the Party’s Secretariat Reports that PDP’s stalwarts including Governors queued to commiserate with Leadership of the Party.
From the North, South To The East, all of them came commiserating with Leadership of the Party over the fire outbreak that damaged Files and Furniture few days ago. Minister of information Prof. Dora Akunyili alongside some State Governors who were among the early arrivals blamed the outbreak on negligence and nonchalant attitude of Workers towards Public property.
While Prof. Akunyili reiterated the need for embrace of the Rebranding Campaign of her Ministry other comforted the Party but opined that the fire could have been avoided if Electrical Appliances there were put off by the office users after official hours. They expressed displeasure over the outbreak.
Former PDP Chairman Solomon Lar also led a delegation from Plateau State to lend their voice to the incidence. In what looked like a familiarization speech the Elder Statesman who was accompanied by eminent Citizens of the State expressed shock over the incidence and disclosed loyalty of his People to the Ruling Party.
PDP Chairman Okwesilieze Nwodo was quick to canvass for the return of peace in the crisis ridden State. It is really amazing the number of visitors at the PDP headquarters because of the little fire that affected a Conference Room of a three storey building.
While no one visited a sight in Area eleven Abuja where more than 20 Persons died due to collapse of a five storey building there.
