The nation’s intelligence unit has been blamed for the spate of violence that has rocked some parts of the country in recent times.

Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, FCT chapter, Rev. Father Willy Ojukwu said this at an inter denominational service to mark this year’s Armed forces remembrance day.

While urging the government to take the issue of violence seriously, the clergyman   condemned the December 25, attempted plane bomb of an America Airline by young Nigeria’s Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

He however, blamed the American Government for blacklisting Nigeria as a terrorist country. On his part, vice president, Good luck Jonathan re-affirmed the Federal Government commitment to the welfare of the armed force.

He said the present administration will continue to support the military because of their contribution to nation building.

This year’s Armed Forces Day celebration will climax on Friday with the laying of wreath at the national arcade. This being celebrated yearly in honour of the nation’s studies that lost their lives during the civil war and the Second World War.
