Suspected cult leader killed in Bayelsa

A suspected cult leader of the proscribed Greenlanders has been shot and killed at Opolo community in the Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa state.


The suspect identified as Maxwell Timipre alias SMALL PIN was said to have been killed by a rival cult group inside his car after the windshield was shattered with bullets.

Speaking on the alarming cult related activities in the state, the Bayelsa coordinator of local vigilantes accuse traditional rulers for their alleged involvement.

Some residents who spoke call on security operatives to beam its searchlights on the community as a result of the daily killings.

Cult related killings have been on the rise in Bayelsa state despite series of arrests made by the state police command, with the recent being the arrest of the killers of a 17-years-old student of the Niger Delta University.
