SON raids wire dealers in Anambra
As part of it effort to curb the menace of substandard products in the Nigeria market, the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has clamped down on manufacturers of fake electrical wires in Onitsha - Ogbosisi axis of Anambra state, southeast Nigeria.
The SON authority said the sales of substandard products which is fast growing in the Nigeria market today is life endangering and must be put to a stop.
Acompanied by the army and police, the officials of the organization, stormed the electronics and electric wires and cables market in Obosisi along the Owerri Onitsha express way, the SON apprehended some of the sales boys working for the fake dealers.
The store keepers led security agencies to the warehouse where the fake products were recovered.
The fake manufacturers named their product ‘ Comenster,’ with the aim of mimicking the original one actually satisfied by SON.

Ikena Oduchi, a worker who said he has been working with his boss the owners of the Fake product, Keneth Adaka, for five years but has never seen the product until January this year.
Though the products are produce and imported into the country from China, SON says it meet no standard of the organisation, not only that it's a sabotage on a duly satisfied product already running in the country, they however insisted on the total evacuation of the product as it pose lot of dangers to the lives of it end users.
The entire warehouse was sealed by the SON after total evacuation of the fake products.
