Police parade suspect cultists, hemp peddlers

Suspected Cultists and Indian hemp peddlers have been arrested and paraded by the Benue state police command.


The suspected cultists about thirty in number were arrested in related cult activities across the state in the wake of the Christmas celebration.

Confirming the arrest, the Benue state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Moses Yamu, who paraded the suspects, disclosed that it is the renewed effort of the police commissioner to ensure crime-free festive period.

While stating that the suspected cultists would be prosecuted after investigation, observed that the Indian hemp peddlers arrested along katsina –Ala local government area is also been looked into with a view to arresting the main culprit.

Correspondent Gabriel Ordia reports that the items recovered from the hoodlum were guns, ammunition, bags of Indian-hemp and vehicles, however, the police also frown at the use of knockouts during this period.
