Police nab suspected pipeline vandal

Operatives of the Bayelsa state police command have apprehended a suspected notorious pipeline vandal and cultist, simply identified as Temona Alison who has been on the wanted list of the command.


The suspect according to the police was arrested with four hand grenades, a pair of military uniform, a machete and twelve wraps of substance, suspected to be cocaine.

In a statement made available to Galaxy television's correspondent, through the state police spokesperson, Asinim Butswat, said the suspect was behind the pipeline attack of Agip facilities last year as the command strike force which specializes in tracking down wanted criminals arrested him in his hide-out.

He stressed that the suspect is presently undergoing thorough interrogation by the command, while efforts are on to arrest his accomplices who are presently on the run.

The command spokesperson calls for information from residents living in the creeks of Bayelsa state, in ensuring that oil facilities are safe.
