Minister calls for more funding for ICT
Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu has stressed the need for the federal government to pay more attention to the funding of Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector of the Nigeria economy.
Speaking with Journalists at the closing session of the 2018 retreat for officials of the federal ministry of Communications and other stakeholders held in Ibadan, the minister said most countries are generating huge resources for investing in the sector.
Shittu noted that the allocation to the sector remain grossly inadequate for all the capital project earmarked by the ministry, stressing that government must show more seriousness towards developing the sector.
Some of the participants at the retreat disclosed that the event has opened new frontiers of knowledge that will transform the fortune of the ministry.
They called for the support and cooperation of all stakeholders for Nigeria to harness the potentials in the sector.
