Ibadan crisis: Police apprehends 14 suspects
Operatives of the Oyo state police command have apprehended 14 suspects following a clash between members of two warring youth groups from Foko and Oke-Ado areas of Ibadan, the state capital.
Pandemonium had broken out in the Oke-Ado area of the state when hoodlums from Foko Itamaya area launched an attack on their rival at Oke-Ado, burgling houses, shops and destroyed other properties worth millions of Naira.
A combined team of the mobile police force, officials of the state anti-robbery squad and other officers
were deployed to the areas to curtail the menace.
Confirming the incident, the public relations officer of the state police command, Adekunle
Ajisebutu says normalcy had since been returned to the troubled area.
While assuring residents of the area of their safety, Ajisebutu declared the readiness of the command to deal with anyone or group of persons that will truncate the peace being enjoy in the state.
Galaxy television learnt that similar disturbance was recorded in Agugu and Gate areas of the state capital where properties worth millions of naira were also damaged.
