Hoodlums aided Dino's escape- Police
The Nigerian Police says Senator Dino Melaye escaped from the custody of men of the force after hoodlums in two Toyota Hilux vehicles blocked them while conveying the Senator to Lokoja to be arraigned before the Federal High Court there.
According to a press statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Jimoh Moshood, it was the action of the hoodlums that aided the escape of the Senator who jumped out of the Police vehicle through the widow following which he was then taken to an unknown destination.
The statement says one of the Toyota Hilux vehicles used by the hoodlums has been recovered by the Police investigation team, adding that the Inspector General of Police has directed that a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the rescue and escape of Senator Dino Melaye be instituted.
Meanwhile, reports reaching Galaxy News says the Police, with an ambulance, are now laying siege at the private hospital where the embattled Senator was taken.
