Africa’s hero of democracy, Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday, July 9, reportedly wept bitterly when he received the news of his son-in-law been attacked and shot by unknown gunmen in his state house estate residence in Calabar, Cross River State.

 Edward, who is the special adviser on youth’s affairs to Governor Ben Ayade, is said to be currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed private hospital, in Calabar.

It would be recalled that the victim, from Abi local government area in Cross River state, married Jonathan’s daughter in 2014.

Meanwhile, series of kidnappings, robbery, cultism, among other criminal activities had been going on in the state in recent times.

However, the commissioner of police, Hafiz Inuwa, as at the time this report was filled, said the matter was yet to be reported officially to the Police.
