The Ogun state command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says its new operational system is geared towards ensuring that every seizure of smuggled goods has alongside arrested suspects.

The Ogun state command of the NCS reinstated its commitment towards reducing smuggling activities within and outside the area.

Ogun state area controller, Sani Madugu, made this known at the Idiroko office of the command while briefing newsmen on the latest seizures made within the last two weeks.

The latest seizure, Madugu says the Command has arrested two suspects and have since been docked in the customs cell.

He says the command has reinvigorated efforts towards the apprehension and prosecution of smugglers as the era of abandoned seizure will soon come to an end.

Items recovered within the last 2 weeks include 20 fairly used vehicles, 18 means of conveyance, 1060 bags of rice, 8, motorcycles, 158 kegs of vegetable oil amongst others totalling 169,767,475 million in duty paid value.
