Benue govt dumps APC
Benue state governor Samuel Ortom, says he has been kicked out of the party, APC by the state leader, allegedly by Senator George Akume.
Governor Ortom disclosed this after swearing a special adviser on Bureau on local government and chieftaincy affairs in Makurdi.
He said he was being given a “red card” and he is currently out of the pitch while also making consultation on the next line of action.
It would be recalled that Governor Samuel Ortom had last week sack commissioners and special adviser most of whom are purportedly loyal to the state party leader which generated lots of fuse in the state.
Meanwhile, at the swearing-in ceremony of Jerom Tor-Shimbe, who now heads Bureau of Local Govt and chieftaincy affairs, he congratulated him and urge him to do give its best in the interest of the state.
The newly appointee, however, thanked the governor for finding him worthy at a such a time, promising to discharge its responsibility dutifully.
