Aisha Buhari flags off program to empower women
Wife of the president of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has flaged off a two week long skill acquisition empowerment programme for one thousand youths and women in kwara state.
The programme has been organised in a bid to reduce poverty among youths especially the women in our society.
The wife of president through his non government organization called future assured said one thousand youths and women across sixteen local government of kwara state will undergo various skill acquisition programme like, tailoring, fashion designing, electrical works, plumbering ,catering, breeding and lots more during the intensive two weeks training.
Wife of president who was represented by the wife of kwara state governor, Omolewa Ahmed said, the objective of the programme is to reduce the suffering and poverty of women and youth in our country
Also speaking, the commissioner for women affairs and special assistance on youth empowerment, Haji Ayinke saka and babatunde saka urge the beneficiaries to judiciously utilized the opportunity that come to their way.
The wife of kwara governor further stressed that, the kwara state government would complement the efforts of wife of president by empowering successful beneficiaries with tools and financial assistance ,she therefore urged them to pay more attention to the training, stressing that attendance during the training is compulsory and might be a yardstick for awarding certificates.
As the two weeks vocational training is about to commence in kwara in different skills, hope this will go a long way in reducing unemployment among the women and youth in our society.
