Nigerians have again been tasked to purchase made-in-Nigeria products to boost the nation’s economy. South region manager of Shoprite Olufemi Oke made this charge on Tuesday during the official launch of some locally made products at the Ikeja outlet of Shoprite.

Some of the indigenous products exhibited include foot wears, drinks and snacks. South region manager of Shoprite, Olufemi Oke said the initiative is part of the companies effort to support the made in Nigeria initiative.

Oke said the company is already making strides towards large scale stocking of made in Nigeria products.

Some manufacturers who had their products on display expressed delight in partnering with shoprite and highlighted the importance of patronizing locally indigenous products.

The manufacturers say the products are available for purchase in all Shoprite outlets in Lagos.

As consumers seek alternatives for now very expensive imported products, this no doubt will come as a relief to shoppers.
