Kogi Robbery attack:Police claims Boko Haram not involved
Police auuthorities in Kogi state have refuted the claim that Friday’s robbery which took place in Ajaokuta was carried out members of the dreaded Boko Haram.
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Marvel Akpoyibo who stated this while addressing newsmen on the attack, said the police are working with the government and other security agents to effectively protect the state.
"It is not correct that Boko Haram struck in Kogi, what happened was a robbery case. When a crime is committed, you look at the pattern of how it was carried out. The pattern of the Ajaokuta incident was the same as those of Kabba, Ayetoro Gbede, Okene and Ogori areas before I came in here. It was a clear case of robbery ," he said.
The commissioner said the robbers bombed the police station to incapacitate the police so that they would not frustrate their mission, saying that measures had been put in place to guard against looting police armoury.
